HORRORFIND WEEKEND 11 - SEPTEMBER 2009
Date and Time: Saturday September 26 8:30pm - 10:30 pm
All attendees interested in competing in the costume contest must register on Saturday before 5 pm. Only one member of a group entry needs to register, but the group will compete at the level of member with the best costume. Contestants will be required to choose only one Sub-division to compete in. Once registered, contestants will be given an identifying badge. Contestants must appear at the designated staging area, with badge 45 minutes before the judging starts to be lined up in the correct order.
There will be three overall divisions based on experience, sub-divisions based on origin of costume and one category, Horror/Halloween/Science Fiction.
Anyone 13 and under.
Anyone 14 and older who has not won more than 3 times in competition.
Anyone 14 and older who has won 4 or more times in other competitions.
Anyone entering the competition can be awarded these prizes.
There will be informal “Honorable Mention” awards awarded by the Horrorfind staff to costumes that they like throughout the evening of the contest. Anyone who is not registered as a contestant, but attends the contest in costume is eligible to win these prizes.
A panel of judges will view each contestant or group on stage. The judging will be based on originality, creativity and overall presentation. Contestants may be interviewed on stage, but their answers will not be part of the judging. Each judge will score individual contestants on a scale of 1 - 10, and the highest combined scores will determine winners of each sub-division. The judges will hammer out any ties and the decision of the judges is final!
