Mold making and Casting
Ahren Gauthier from ImprobableCast, Halfbad Toyz and Steam Gear Lab returns for another instructional session in mold making and casting. This year I will cover two projects: silicone appliance makeup (including sculpting tips, application, removal and storage) and basic molding and casting for the reproduction of weapons, props and decorative items that would be useful on set or in a haunted house. There are some exciting new materials available and I will be using some of them in this demo session. There will be something in this session for all skill levels so don't be shy!
Ahren Gauthier is the lead mold maker and caster for ImprobableCast, Halfbad Toyz and the owner of Steam Gear Lab. He has been working professionally since 2007, specializing in silicone mold making, resin casting and practical props.
