Basics of Theatrical Séance: Magic vs. SPFX By Rick Maue and Allen Erush

Special Midnight lecture Saturday August 16
Rick Maue has been involved in the art of magic for almost four decades as a creator, performer, producer, and author. In addition, he has been designing/producing theatrical séances since 1976. He and his wife Tammy own and operate Deceptions Unlimited, through which Rick shares his creations and experience among the magic community with his original publications, videos, and lectures. His release, The Book Of HauntedMagick, has sold in over thirty countries and it is still going strong. In addition, Rick also has an extensive background in the field of haunting. With more than two decades of experience, he has designed/created numerous attractions, including his own private haunt, The Haunted Chamber, which is designed to give the feel of a walk-through séance. The Chamber (complete with full-size séance parlor) is a permanent fixture in Rick's home, and it is open (by appointment only) year-round. At HORRORFIND, Rick (along with his partner, Allan "Bonedaddy" Erush) will present a detailed introduction to creating/producing theatrical séances. The session will include a discussion about the different types of séances, magic, special effects, and more. The lecture will also be filled with educational and entertaining stories from a few of the many séances that Rick has created over the last 25 years. Deceptions Unlimited Website
